Privacy Policy

This page explains how Locor handles website enquiries and service information when you contact us for motor and drive support. We keep to practical safeguards, only use details for the work requested, and protect personal information in line with South African requirements.

Privacy Policy

Information We Collect When You Enquire

When you send an enquiry through our contact page, we may receive your name, company name, contact details, site location and the service information you choose to share. That can include motor and drive details, fault symptoms, machine type, panel photos, site conditions, or a request for shutdown planning and field support.

We only ask for information that helps us assess the job properly. If you choose to provide extra notes about a plant, workshop, municipal site or production line, we use that information to prepare a reply and plan the next step. Please avoid sending any information that is not needed for the service request.

How We Use Service Details

Locor uses enquiry details to respond to your request, assess the likely fault, arrange site follow up where needed, and support work such as fault finding, motor removal, drive inspection, bearing checks, insulation testing, alignment checks, commissioning support, shutdown planning, spares assessment, panel cleaning, cable checks and site reporting.

  • To answer your enquiry and confirm what service is needed
  • To coordinate collection, site attendance, or workshop assessment
  • To keep an internal record of the work requested and the work completed
  • To support safe planning where lockout procedures and qualified electrical work are required

We do not use your service information for anything unrelated to the work you asked us to do. If you ask for a follow up on a drive repair or motor rewind, the notes stay tied to that job and are handled on a need-to-know basis.

Who Can Access Your Information

Access is limited to staff who need the information to manage an enquiry, prepare a quotation discussion, arrange a site visit, or carry out the requested service. This may include our operations team, technical staff and customer support team in Germiston and the surrounding areas we service.

We do not share your personal information with outside parties unless it is necessary to complete the work, required by law, or needed to protect safety and property. If a site visit needs coordination with your own maintenance team or plant manager, we only share the details needed for that purpose. Information is handled carefully because electrical work and motor handling must be done by qualified people with proper lockout procedures in place.

Storage, Security and Record Keeping

Enquiry records and service notes are kept in a practical working format so we can track what was requested, what was inspected, and what action was taken. We keep information only for as long as it is needed for support, record keeping, legal compliance or operational follow up.

  • We store records with restricted access
  • We take reasonable steps to protect against loss, misuse or unauthorised access
  • We review details before using them for job planning or site reporting
  • We may keep technical notes on motors, drives, bearings and insulation checks for future reference if you return with the same equipment

Where possible, we keep the information accurate and up to date. If your site details change, or a different contact person now handles the job, please send the new details through the enquiry form so our records stay current.

Your Rights Under South African Law

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask for correction of incorrect details, or request that unnecessary information be removed where we are allowed to do so. If you want us to update a contact name, site address or preferred method of communication, we will do our best to assist.

Some records must be kept for business or legal reasons, especially where they relate to a job already handled, a safety related issue, or an invoice and service trail. In those cases we may not be able to delete everything immediately, but we will explain what can be changed and what must remain on file.

How to Send a Privacy Query

If you have a question about how your enquiry was handled, or you want to review the information linked to a service request, please use the enquiry form on our contact page and note that your message is for a privacy matter. We will route it to the correct person for attention.

  • State the name used on the enquiry
  • Include the site or project reference if available
  • Tell us whether you want correction, access or deletion where permitted
  • Give us enough detail to identify the record safely

For visits in Germiston, Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Pretoria, Vereeniging, Durban, Boksburg or Kempton Park, the same privacy handling applies. Whether the work is motor rewinding, drive repair or a site check after load-shedding, we keep the enquiry details focused on the job and protect them with care.
